Try Whistling This
I know it sounds kinda pointless for me to have traveled to orchard and then back to the east again, but pasir ris is hell far from my place still. Made our way to the downtown east chalets, checked into the crappy chalet which had bugs in the sink and this weird musty smell that reminded me of my grandma. Joel joined us after abit and we all headed to escape theme park. I swear we went through that place like crazy and rode all the rides at least 7-8 times till we actually made friends with all the workers there who then did us favours like make the ride go another round or 2 just for kicks. Sheila joined us at night where we went back to escape to drive the go karts and wander into the haunted house, had dinner then she had to leave. Tim joined us after while we washed up and played cards. Finally slept at 3am cos i hadn't slept the night before, kenny couldn't sleep and kept laughing for some reason. Ishaan Tim and I slept like logs. And i discovered that i still snore. Tsk. Had macs for breakfast the next morning and tried the mega mcgridles which was really silly cos it only had more meat in the middle. But while i'm at that, whats up with all this mega-ing shit? Burger king's making their burgers mega too and frankly, they're still pathetic, they dont have the love and care that carl's jr puts into their burgers. pfft. I wouldn't mind if carl's jr went mega. :D Tim left and me kenny and ish headed to escape for one last time, cos there wasnt anything else to bloody do around there. Sat on the same ol rides over and over again till sitting on them no longer became thrilling, but relaxing. Even the ride which flipped you around and around at an angle, tossing you into the air and letting you cascade down on the huge saucer. Cabbed home after that, lunched at home, then cabbed to far east to meet kenny and ish to buy sheila a pair of earrings she lost the night before. I had no money for dinner so i had to wallow in misery all the way to school where the rest of the drama club had gathered to go to acjc for their play. Old memories and nightmares flooded me as i conversed with my juniors, shafi's voice broke, something im still largely fascinated by cos i never thought it would happen pfft. We got there and soon after settling down i had to go fetch lijia who was pretty lost. There was no space with my juniors, so me and her had to sit behind this weird old guy. I introduced her to most of my little grunts, the weird and the wonderful. She was very fascinated by them. Never before had she met such a queer bunch of people pfft. Welcome to my world lijia. The play was pretty good, syahir did a smashing job and so did all the other actors and musicians, particularly proud of my juniors who were in it, it was like seeing a child get up and walk. pfft. Mom gave ish a lift cos he was being pathetic and homeless. Tsk. Lunched with lynn yesterday at the marriot hotel buffet which was really good. Liz called me up halfway spiraling into panic over something, and tells me that she got a tattoo, the day before, on her ankle. Well done there liz. We were sposed to go catch wild child and what not, but we were broke and the sun just killed us. Today was a particularly special day. Headed to expo in the morning to get my spectacular, tremendous, stupendous, magnificent, incredible macbook. And i swear that place is a nightmare. I've never seen a larger congregation of nerds and computer lovers in one area before in my life. And these people are ruthless. They'll hack your head off with a CD just to get a good buy of some fancy weird tech gismo i know nothing of. I had to cough like i was dying of contagious throat cancer just so that they'd make way for me. And the people handing out flyers were like vultures. Standing on literally every corner of every corner shoving flyers into your face trying to promote their shop, you could tell how strategically planned their modes of attack were, half a dozen of them would come at you from the sides while the other half a dozen would standby in front of you in case the side battalions fell. Tsk. Believe me, if i had bricks, i would've thrown it at them all. Dickweeds. pfft. But i finally made my way past the strange sweaty computer connoisseurs and got the beautiful macbook. I haven't exactly done anything with it yet cos im extremely unfamiliar with the mac. I'm still at the beginning stages of discovery where i click buttons and marvel at what ive just clicked. Go me. pfft. Tomorrow's the first of december. That means my birthday's in 12 day's time. Great. I've got a million pictures but im too lazy to upload em. I'm gonna try and get my mac to work like normal now. I'll seeyuh when i seeyuh. ao Wednesday, November 26, 2008, 7:33 PM
Make it out alive
I cycled from downtown east to IKEA in the blistering hot sun on a small ass bicycle almost dehydrating and fainting halfway then walked back to downtown east pushing my bike getting drenched in the pouring rain and getting lost 4 times. I shit you not. I couldn't cycle back cos i had too many cramps attacking my legs and the bicycle chair was really, really small. Not to mention the fact that i went swimming in the morning for a good 2 hours and started cramping after i got out of the pool. If there ever was a day i could enter into the book of saddest days ever, i think today would pretty much top the other chapters. It was like a nightmare i had once, except i was in Germany, had no food and no money. Spent an hour on the roads this morning trying to look for YCK swimming complex getting lost thanks to my mom's amazing directional skills but finally made it there to find cumara and jon already swimming. I hadn't swam in over a year and a half so i was a bit rusty, but i am a gold star certificate holder in swimming. Seriously. But that was back when i was 12. pfft. Old fears hit me as i embraced the pool waters, little children giggled and stared and adults smiled and held back their amusement with what little maturity they had. I don't like children when im in the same pool with them. tsk. Little dickweeds. Then we took a 22 stop train ride to pasir ris where we met fried, glascow and the rest. Lunched at macs and i tried the really pathetic mega mac which is still bullocks compared to carl's jr's pattys. Somehow made our way to costa sands where fried, glascow and ernest had already rented bikes and were pedaling rounds around the whole place. Got lost but eventually found the bike rental where i made the big mistake of renting the bike. Tsk. And thus began the hell ride to ikea. I was so dead dehydrated when we were a short while away from ikea that i couldnt see anything and had to collapse. The people ahead of me went too fast and the people behind me went too slow, as a result, i was stuck in the middle with no one to see my graceful fall. I did however have the pleasant audience of senior citizens on a bus who giggled at my fall. Tsk. Reached ikea and downed 4 litres of water. Never before in my life had i felt such repulse for food and such love for water. We started on our journey back, but 5 minutes into it and both my legs cramped and my knee caps locked, so i threw aside my bike with a theatrical crash and fell onto the sidewalk, screaming as cumara and fried tried to stretch my legs. You prolly think im exadurating, but my leg muscles are huge because of the large weight it carries around every day, so when it cramps, i assure you, it really, really hurts. Tried getting a cab back to costa sands with chris as the rest moved on, but no one would stop for us cos we had bikes, and apparently its some shit rule in the taxibastards handbook that disallows the carrying of bicycles in vehicle. So we tried calling maxi cab, but they didn't pick up. We gave up after awhile and decided to push our bikes back as it started to pour like mad. This really is starting to sound like some unbelievably dramatic sad tale you'd hear at an emo convention, isn't it? So we traveled, carrying our bikes up overhead bridges with me getting a cramp halfway across the bridge and just standing there gripping onto the side railing, eyes closed, sloshed and holding back screams while maintainence workers on the bridge, passers by on the bridge and pedestrians crossing the road stared at me in bewilderment. Got lost after awhile cos we had no clue where we were headed. I would've loved to ask for directions but unfortunately, it was storming and no one was on the streets. Finally found pasir ris park where we trekked through swamps and thick forestation, praying for this to end. After like, a couple thousand miles, i spotted the sign "Bicycle rental" from the corner of my eye quickly zipped into the place realizing we had finally found our way back to the rental. Joined up with the rest and headed to fish and co express where i had a glorious hot dog. Cabbed home soon after cos i was way too tired. Pfft. I dont think i'll be biking again anytime soon, if you see me one day, and i happen to be on a bike, please, stop me. Tsk. The sun's completely killed me and im now literally red. In retrospect, the rain then killed me and now im down with a cold. Just kill me won't you. I dont even have the energy to lift a fork and spoon for dinner, so i think i'll spend the rest of the night just sitting down. Drama chalet tomorrow at the same stupid downtown east, tsk, i am not going anywhere near bicycles. I'll seeyuh when i seeyuh. ao Saturday, November 22, 2008, 7:47 PM
More than you could ever know
Liz: Wow really. clap clap. Kl: haha yea i know, didnt expect to see you guys there. You watched a movie or what? Grace: So do i! :( Amraesh: Haha cos you were so angry and bored, there were none of you smiling :/ Brandon: Chyea it is! Im hooked onto it haha Munky: ooo Yea Liz showed it to me the other day and she kept singing but we got very few points cos liz's singing is so fantastic. :p But yea its super cool haha. Weng: Trick :D All the other random nameless dickweeds: Tsk? Ok i've gotta admit, im starting to get bored of the holidays which is really really bad. But, a new week's coming with a truckload full of plans and things to do so that should keep me happy for abit. Met lynn on thursday for mindless shopping around far east as usual, ended up with nothing but a good exercise. I can now officially map out the entire floor plan of far east cos ive walked around the place at least 600 times now. She headed for her dental around 5 and i cabbed down to great world to meet ish and kenny. Ish had some audition for some media corp thing cos his aunty's an actress and landed him an audition and he conveniently left out my name for any recommendations(thank you ish). He got a callback later on in the day saying theyre gonna put him in some chinese drama serial, first class and the noose. pfft. His height and ridiculous good looks finally got him somewhere. pfft. I doubt i'd accept their offer if it was offered anyway, i don't wanna be on some tired out local tv production company and star in some really really weird chinese show where i'd actually have to speak chinese. pfft. Gou and Joel joined us in the night after cabbing to Ish's house for a couple drinks and heading down to cine to catch beverly hills chihuahua. Subwayed for dinner and scurried into the cinema to catch the wonderfully pointless show. I know i'll be stabbed by millions of tweeny boppers world wide who will say that the movie is absolutely adorable cos of a couple of dogs wearing clothes and taking like humans so i shan't harp on the movie's delightful dogness. So unless you're 3 years old or have this gargantuan love for cute animals talking like humans and wearing human clothes and having the attitude worthy of the 90210 cast, then i'd suggest you give this one a miss. I did, however, enjoy the movie, probably because of our constant laughing fits cos of an inside joke to do with dogs and ish. Played pool after that for an hour or so then cabbed home at 12. Yesterday and today were literally boring cos i literally did nothing. Except for maybe me getting new jeans and shorts today (yes i can fit in them shut up) and going grocery shopping at some very sleezy but somewhat charming cold storage in orchard. I stocked up on peppermint candy canes and pasta so that i can cook for anyone who wishes to give my delicious pasta a go. I'm planning on perfecting the penne alla arrabiata, and some other pasta dish with carbonara in the title. Already a week has gone by, it feels only a day ago that the O's ended, i guess it's just gonna feel like this all the way till results day. Whopee. Tsk. I've got some delicious candy canes to suck on. Theyre low fat candy canes. I swear. I'll seeyuh when i seeyuh. ao Wednesday, November 19, 2008, 12:59 AM
So kiss me goodbye
Same thing with ming's house except with more whiskey. Then, results come out, and either alot of crying or smiling, then its school again. I just summed up 3 months in 3 sentaces. Tsk. I guess i'd better just start living for the moment while its still here. And i'd say ive been doing pretty alright. Headed to mount faber on monday with the class to bowl and play pool. We got confronted by these weird ass dickweed primary schoolers who tried to act all tough and gangster-ish and tried to pull the whole we've-got-gangs-dont-mess-with-us kinda thing. But as you can tell, out number greatly outnumbered theirs, and since i count for at least 5 people, that really tips the scale. And they were the typical chinese type gangster and kept throwing hokkien insults at us, i would've loved to insult them back, but unfortunately, my chinese is fantastically strong and my english insults wouldnt've made sense to them, so i just decided to dismiss their words as clutter noise. pfft. They even had the weird nerve to have this conversation with us. Dickweeds: (Blabbers something in chinese) Me: What? Dickweeds: (Blabbers something in chinese) Gary: huh? Dickweeds: (Blabbers something in chinese) Everyone: ?????????????? Dickweeds: (Blabbers something in chinese) Dickweeds: (Blabbers something in chinese) Dickweeds: (Blabbers something in chinese) At this point we really didn't bother saying anything else in return and continued with our game of soccer (so wonderfully played with my basketball tsk) So after leaving the court and heading to the lobby, their tallest gang member came up to us and tried to do the chin-up-what-do-you-think-you're-trying-to-do kinda look, he took a look around and decided to pull it off on Eugene, who was the shortest in the room aside from their other hobbit hooligans. Then this tall hobbit boy confronts Chris. Which is something only a number 3 IQ patient would do. Dickweed: Eh, you how old arh? Chris: What? Me? Dickweed: yea Chris: Im 15. Why? Dickweed: Orrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrh. You know my friend, he is Chinese eh. Then he walks off. Tsk. ???????? What the hell is that supposed to bloody mean?! He asks for our age then tells us he's chinese?!?! Yea that's is so fantastically intimidating. pfft. We decided to leave after that cos apparently the hobbits had called the rest of the folks from the shire and we were tired, so we didn't really bother trying to fight back with them. Dad picked me up and brought me for his band practice since my O's are over and he needed a keyboardist and singer for some gig coming up. Jammed till way after midnight and died straight on my bed after supper at 4:30 am. Woke up the next day all tired, almost forgetting that I was supposed to meet jiyin. So when she called telling me she was on her way to my place, i spiraled into panic. Showered and changed and went down to hop into the cab she was in (sorry you had to wait) and we headed to cine to take neoprints. pfft. Then had lunch at hip diner where we sang christmas carols that were playing and gave everyone the illusion that we're insane, yummy meal, then we caught quantum of solace. Which was pretty alright if you had watched casino royale. Unfortunately, i hadn't. So i had no idea what was going on. pfft. Went to the heeran after that to hop around HMV, then to paragon where we pranced around toys r' us and aussino and some bakry buying stuff, then i had to cab back cos it was gran's birthday. And she's like turning five hundred so it was some huge ass deal. Had this huge ass dinner at some huge ass place i cant even remember. pfft. Today, i woke up really early, i dont know why, i just couldn't sleep after 3 hours. tsk. Spent the next couple hours doing absolutely nothing of grave importance. Liz came over after lunch and we cabbed to far east, i insisted on busing cos of my brokeness, but she's anti-bus. So we got there trying to find something for her, ive no idea what she was looking for, but whatever it was,we didn't find it. Left the place with hair dye for her hair cos she thinks her hair was too light. Then walked in the rain all the way to paragon where we went grocery shopping for dinner and somehow managed to burn 60 bucks thanks to Liz's buying of everything she saw tsk. If i didn't remove 60% of what was on the cart, it would've amounted to over $200. I was going to make a nice good meal of soup and a subway style sandwich. Total cost, less than 20 bucks. But liz added in broccelli, sliced beef, orange juice, bread crumbed chicken, smoked almonds and salad. Then cabbed back in the rain. I helped her dye hightlights of darker brown when we got back and i honestly did a wonderful job cos it looks great, even she says so. Fumbled around doing nothing before heading to my kitchen. She semi cooked the broccelli dish( which had carrots which became unrecognizable and cauliflower which changed colour from white to brown and the sliced beef which i marinated) and i didn't die from eating it so you can tell it was edible. After not finishing the wonderful meal we had conjured, headed to my room watching stupid youtube videos and taking pictures. Her mom fetched her home around 10. She left her almonds at my house which, (Liz im really sorry but it honestly dropped on the floor and it scattered everywhere i shit you not i'll buy you a new one ok im sorry i love you too) dropped onto the floor and scattered everywhere. pfft. I know it sounds like some lame excuse i'd come up with just so i can eat it all up but no im not lying. Tsk. Pictures. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Im good. ![]() ![]() ![]() Look its, something Liz cooked. Eat with caution. ![]() ![]() Tsk, she kept asking me to take pictures of her hair. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() rawr ![]() So wrong liz. So wrong. I need to go catch up on my 5 days of no sleep. I'll seeyuh when i seeyuh. ao Sunday, November 16, 2008, 10:33 PM
The fear you won't fall
So i decided to go for a run cos of my whole weight loss thing (its a work in progress) so i put on my running shoes, my running pants, my running shirt and my ipod and headed out the door, but then i felt realy really tired in the lift so i went back up to sleep. Pfft. How's that for accomplishment? Thats the first step, next step, im actually going to run. Just, not today. So i woke up later at 10 and watched reruns of grey's before breakfasting and heading out to PS to meet grace. She wasn't there yet so i waited at starbucks with their new toffee nut latte which is pretty good. She showed up with Tim wang after awhile, i havent seen him in 4 years so it was pretty cool. Today, we set out to go around singapore on a photography trip and we were not allowed to cab anywhere,so it was bus all the way. We did pretty well, didn't cab at all. So we took the train to bugis where we hobbled around the bugis area trying to find arab street, ended up wandering into this really coolass building that had gorgeous ceilings and art structures. Found haji lane and arab street, walked all over the shops taking pictures and gawking over the quaint avant garde shophouses lining the place. Grace bought silk cos she's gonna sew a dress. Then tim had to leave,we were kinda hungry so grace and i shared a bowl of prawn noodles at some prawn noodle place which was orgasmically good. Like, i swear, coming from a fat person, you know im not lying. Its somewhere after arab street if you keep walking out of it, i dont know what its called, but it sells prawn noodles. pfft. Then we walked around, somehow ended up crossing dodgey alleyways and eventually landed up in raffles hotel where we wandered the hallways singing songs all the way. I even managed to come up with a song, i can't remember the lyrics, but grace does, so visit her blog for song lyrics. pfft. Then we bused to chinatown where we somehow circled some temple place and went to some mall for tea, then walking to some colourful window place and eventually landing up in fort canning, which is where PS is, so we actually went a huge round. Headed to peninsular round 5 where we walked around, and i bought a couple new iron ons for my bag, it looks pretty stunning now pfft. Her mom came to pick her up soon after 6, i was supposed to dinner with travis and sophie, but i was too tired, so decided to leave those 2 to frolick by themselves. Pictures, so stand back. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I love this. ![]() This guy hasn't cut his hair in 12 years. 12 years. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I havent had dinner yet but im not hungry. Which is particularly strange coming from me, isn't it? Liz just called telling me she's bored, pfft, Anna's staying over at her place and they're both bored. Fantastic. Anna said my earlier post's story was good, thanks anna! =) I'm gonna go back to a painting that i'm working on. I'm only halfway, pictures'll be up when im done with it. I'll seeyuh when i seeyuh. ao |
